SHENZHEN-BASED Game Science, the studio behind Black Myth: Wukong, revealed a sequel, “Black Myth: Zhong Kui,” during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live in Cologne, Germany. Onstage, host Geoff Keighley described Zhong Kui as “the ghost‑catching god who wanders between hell and earth.” A CG teaser trailer debuted as the show‑closing highlight. The new title is a single‑player action RPG drawing its creative inspiration from the famed Chinese folk figure Zhong Kui. The project is still in early development, so no in‑game footage is available yet. The team could have continued developing DLC for Wukong, but founder and CEO Feng Ji said their passion is currently focused on crafting an entirely new myth before Wukong returns “in a more complete and polished form.” "Black Myth: Wukong," the record‑breaking action game, launched on PC and PlayStation 5 last year; the Xbox Series X/S version launched yesterday.
