IN a bid to foster a “warmer, more inclusive” international community, Nanshan Subdistrict in Nanshan District has launched the Nanshan-Qianhai International Volunteers (NQIV) recruitment drive. The initiative aims to build a structured, diverse volunteer team to support the development of Qianhai — a bustling coastal business and cultural hub described as “where Nanshan’s waves meet the world.” The program is calling for youth from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, international residents, and bilingual local talents to join its ranks. The goal is to form a regularized, internationalized, and locally integrated volunteer force that can support high-level events, community activities, and cross-border services throughout the Qianhai area. Volunteers will have the opportunity to apply their skills across five specialized teams: ● Translation (live interpretation, bilingual materials) ● Guidance (guest reception, event logistics) ● Media (photography, videography, content creation) ● Planning (activity design and execution) ● Social (cross-cultural outreach and icebreaking) Assignments will include supporting international cultural festivals, language corners, food fairs, and government service guidance. Participants will receive official Shenzhen volunteer hour certification, international volunteer certificates, priority access to events, cross-cultural training, and insurance coverage. The program also offers a clear growth path: Volunteers can begin as Event Explorers, advance to Routine Members, and rise to Core Member roles as they gain experience. The recruitment is part of the broader Nanshan Subdistrict International Block Construction Project, centered on the Qianhai Three-Bays area — a key site for Shenzhen-Hong Kong cooperation. The zone features integrated amenities including a Global Talent Hub, international schools, and the MixC commercial complex. The NQIV will host multilingual activities in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English and provide cross-border guidance to help international talents feel at home and build a sense of belonging in Qianhai’s dynamic ecosystem.
