Built by China Railway Construction Bridge Engineering Bureau for the new Chongqing–Wanzhou line (Yuwan HSR), the bridge has successfully closed its main span, paving the way for the line to open on schedule. Located in Fuling District, Chongqing, the Caijiagou bridge spans a tributary of the Yangtze River and is one of the project’s most challenging structures, with a total span of 584 meters. The Yuwan HSR is part of China’s “eight vertical and eight horizontal” high‑speed rail network; the main line is 251 kilometers long and designed for speeds of up to 350 km/h. Xinhua |
