Yantian International Container Terminals tops Asian peers
    2025-09-09  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

YANTIAN International Container Terminals (YICT) has won the Best Container Terminal — Asia (Over 4 million TEUs) award at the 2025 Asian Freight, Logistics, and Supply Chain (AFLAS) Awards in Hong Kong for the third time, following wins in 2018 and 2023.

One of the world’s largest container terminals, YICT handled more than 15 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in 2024.

The terminal operates 20 deep-water berths and benefits from an 18-meter-deep natural channel within the Guangdong‑Hong Kong‑Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), enabling it to manage roughly one-third of Guangdong’s foreign trade container traffic, according to general manager Cen Qicheng.

YICT’s extensive service network includes about 100 weekly sailings, with an average of 10 daily departures to Europe and North America — the highest frequency in the GBA. As the last port of call in South China, the terminal helps minimize transit times to key markets — around 11 days to Australia and approximately 12.5 days to the West Coast of the U.S.

The AFLAS Awards honor excellence across the logistics sector, recognizing leadership, innovation, service, and reliability. (Mu Zi)
