THE number of business entities registered in Bao’an District had surpassed 1 million by the end of July 2025, reaching 1,003,102. This milestone cements Bao’an’s status as the top-ranked district (county) in China by the number of business entities.

In the first quarter of 2025, Bao’an ranked second in Shenzhen in terms of the number of newly established enterprises, with 12,886 registered companies and 8,572 self-employed businesses. About 89.8% of these businesses operate in the service sector. Key industries include manufacturing, for-profit service sectors, transportation, warehousing, postal services, finance, wholesale and retail, construction, and real estate.

Notably, young entrepreneurs under 35 exhibit a “triple 50%” trend — nearly half of all newly registered business entities, newly established enterprises, and legal representatives are from this age group.
