THE Bao’an District Education Bureau recently unveiled its three-year action plan for the high-quality development of preschool education (2025-2027), outlining an ambitious strategy to establish Bao’an as a leading region for early childhood education. To ensure the plan’s effectiveness, the bureau formed a dedicated team and conducted extensive research, including nearly 1,000 surveys and over 10 seminars, collecting more than 200 suggestions. University experts were also invited to provide professional insights. The plan aims to achieve excellent care for children by building a well-structured, safe, and high-quality public service system for preschool education. Key goals include balanced resource allocation, modernized governance, scientific teaching quality, a highly skilled teaching force, and a stronger regional brand influence. To achieve these objectives, Bao’an will expand and optimize inclusive educational resources, enhance the quality of childcare and teaching, and establish a long-term mechanism for teacher development. Notably, all kindergarten principals will be required to hold a bachelor’s degree or higher. The district also plans to explore AI applications in education, including the establishment of experimental kindergartens focused on artificial intelligence. Over the past five years, Bao’an has made significant strides by converting 158 private kindergartens into public ones and adding 70,200 public preschool seats. As a result, the proportion of children enrolled in public kindergartens has surged from 8.67% to 59.93%, according to Bao’an Daily. (Wang Jingli) |
