MixC Art Season kicks off at SZ Bay
    2025-09-29  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE “Bay to Art” MixC Art Season, a feast of art and culture, is set to welcome GBA residents at the MixC Shenzhen Bay as the upscale shopping complex unveils its second phase tomorrow. With more than 100 activities across six main themes, the event invites all art lovers for an enriching art and culture experience.

Installations

Beginning Sept. 30, four installations inspired by French artist Henri Matisse’s works will greet visitors in zones B, C and D. Among them is a striking large-scale piece featuring the iconic dancing figures from Matisse’s “Dance.” Created in partnership with the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg, Russia, these “Dance Gathering” installations open a timeless dialogue on aesthetics.

Exhibition

For those interested in documentary photography, the “Martin Parr: Short & Sweet” exhibition is a must-see. Showcasing nearly 400 works spanning more than five decades, it offers a comprehensive retrospective of the British documentary photographer’s career.

Dates: Sept. 30-Feb. 28, 2026

Venue: The WAVE, Zone B

Light show

Looking for something futuristic? The “Future Dreams: A Symphony of Magic” light show awaits your exploration. Produced by Territory Studio — an independent creative agency whose clients include Universal, 20th Century Fox, Sony, Paramount, and Marvel — the show combines waterscapes with 3D holographic projection, offering viewers an immersive futuristic experience.

Time: 7 p.m., 8 p.m., 9 p.m., Sept. 30-Oct. 8 (each performance lasts 3 minutes)

Venue: The WAVE, Zone B

Live concerts

From Sept. 30 to Oct. 8, live concerts by REDA Band, Leo Band, and Eryu Duo will fill the Waterfall Plaza with music, offering audiences an escape from pressure and stress. Bring your friends, or meet new ones here!

Time: 6-8 p.m., Sept. 30-Oct. 8

Venue: Waterfall Plaza, Zone C

‘Bay Talk’

A platform for exchanges on culture and art, “Bay Talk” brings together industry experts to share insights on art in the GBA. From Sept. 30 to Oct. 12, it will feature three TEDx talks and a talk show.

Time: 4 p.m., Sept. 30, Oct. 1 & 3 (TEDx talks); 4:30 p.m., Oct. 12 (talk show)
