Events Fireworks display in HK To celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the 2025 National Day Fireworks Display will illuminate the sky over Victoria Harbor in Hong Kong at 8 p.m. on Oct. 1. This 23-minute spectacular will be launched from three barges and feature more than 30,000 fireworks across eight dazzling acts, set to a mix of classical, patriotic, and contemporary music. Prime viewing areas include Tsim Sha Tsui, Wan Chai, and other harborside locations. Tai Hang fire dragon dance Recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage item, the traditional Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance returns to the streets of Hong Kong for the Mid-Autumn Festival. The event showcases a 67-meter-long dragon adorned with incense sticks, performed by a team of 300, accompanied by a smaller dragon danced by children. This tradition dates back to the 19th century, when it was believed to drive away plague.
