Inaugural ‘Impact Founders Lab Initiative’ concludes
    2025-10-15  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE Impact Showcase Day of the inaugural “Impact Founders Lab Initiative,” funded by UBS and jointly launched by the Harmony Community Foundation and Impact Hub Shenzhen, will be held today in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), concluding the four-month sustainable entrepreneurship empowerment program.

UBS is committed to promoting the sustainable development and well-being of its communities. The “Impact Founders Lab Initiative” is UBS’ inaugural sustainable entrepreneurship philanthropic project on the Chinese mainland.

As a forward-looking and socially responsible model, sustainable entrepreneurship pursues balanced and coordinated development across economic, social, and environmental dimensions.

This initiative integrates sustainable entrepreneurship with the GBA, aiming to provide entrepreneurs with fertile ground and a stage to realize their ambitions, while supporting outstanding sustainable projects to help the region achieve environmental, social, and economic synergy, thus fostering a mutually supportive and thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The inaugural cohort comprised 20 projects spanning technology innovation, health and wellness, innovative education, sustainable consumption, and inclusive accessibility, fully demonstrating the creativity and sense of responsibility of young entrepreneurs.

During the four-month empowerment period, these outstanding teams benefited from structured training, community interactions, and expert mentorship, enhancing their professional skills, business thinking, and practical experience.

At the Impact Showcase Day, they will showcase their project outcomes and connect with potential investors, gaining new opportunities to enhance their social impact and advance their growth.

UBS Wealth Management China Head, Kevin Lu, said: “We are honored to collaborate with our philanthropic partners to support sustainable entrepreneurs in refining their business models and connecting with valuable resources, building a community of mutual support and co-creation.”

Li Miaoting, Secretary-General of the Harmony Community Foundation, said: “The ‘Impact Founders Lab Initiative’ provides a platform for innovative actors who respond to social needs with business intelligence to see each other and inspire one another.”

Impact Hub Shenzhen Co-Founder, Zhao Yuheng, said: “The ‘Impact Founders Lab Initiative’ attracted 20 highly creative and dynamic entrepreneurs... The accelerator provided not only structured learning and resource connections but also motivated entrepreneurs to act continuously and purposefully.”

Participants of the program expressed that the accelerator provided them with invaluable learning and growth opportunities. Through in-depth training and exchange, they gained systematic business methodology, restructured their understanding of users, markets, and business models, and clarified both project directions and personal missions.

Through engagement with mentors, investors, and support organizations across industries, they accessed critical resources and practical guidance, expanding their collaborative opportunities. Working alongside like-minded entrepreneurs, mentors, and partners, participants reinforced their belief in leveraging business to drive sustainable social impact and look forward to applying what they have learned in future entrepreneurial endeavors.(SD News)
