HONOR, a global AI device ecosystem company, unveiled its Magic8 Series smartphones in China on Wednesday. Marking the brand’s first “Self-Evolving AI Smartphone” lineup, the series is led by the flagship Magic8 Pro model. The lineup focuses on three key upgrades: intelligence, imaging and performance. Its updated YOYO Agent can automate tasks across over 3,000 scenarios, from sorting blurry screenshots to tallying work expenses and emailing reports. A new customizable AI Button allows one-touch access to functions like content recognition during video calls and camera activation. Meanwhile, YOYO Memories builds a privacy-protected personal knowledge base by analyzing photos, chat records and documents. For photography, the Magic8 Pro packs a 200MP Ultra Night Telephoto Camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor — a larger sensor means more light is captured, resulting in brighter, more detailed photos when shooting distant objects at night. Honor’s AI anti-shake technology boosts the chance of taking clear zoomed photos seven times without a tripod, reaching an industry-leading CIPA 5.5 stabilization level. Simply put, even if you walk or your hands shake slightly, the photos will barely blur, with stability close to that of professional action cameras. The newly launched Magic Color engine can extract 16.77 million colors — enough to reproduce most hues the human eye can see — enabling users to create photos with cinematic tones or personalized color styles they prefer. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, the series uses AI to upgrade blurry, laggy low-resolution games to 1080P HD quality at 120 frames per second (fps). A 120fps rate means faster on-screen transitions during gaming, with no delay between your actions and the on-screen response. The Magic8 Pro is equipped with a 7,200mAh battery — larger than most flagship phones on the market, easily lasting a full day of regular use. Paired with three power management chips, it supports 120W wired fast charging and 80W wireless fast charging. At normal speeds, wired charging can fully recharge a battery in 30 minutes. (CGTN) |
