With a designed speed of 450 km/h and expected commercial operation speed of 400 km/h, the world’s fastest bullet train has begun pre-service trials on the Shanghai–Chengdu high-speed railway. During the latest trial Sunday, it set records of 453 km/h for a single train and a relative passing speed of 896 km/h. The train must complete 600,000 km of trouble-free testing before entering passenger service.Xinhua |
