ON Sept. 17, Bao’an District’s first physical Overseas Talent Service Station was opened in Cambridge, the U.K. This initiative marks a significant step by Bao’an District to deepen and expand its international channels for attracting global talent. The Bao’an District Overseas Talent Service Station aims to build an efficient, convenient, and welcoming service platform for overseas talent. It will focus on key sectors outlined in Bao’an’s “17+2” industrial clusters, such as artificial intelligence, biomedicine, new materials, and advanced manufacturing, providing comprehensive, one-stop services for high-level overseas talent, young scholars, and international students. According to Bao’an Daily, the station will not only facilitate connections with the innovative resources of Cambridge’s renowned universities and the U.K.’s top research institutions but also foster regular academic exchanges, project collaborations, and cultural activities. Yu Hao, a Ph.D. candidate in Engineering at the University of Cambridge, shared, “The establishment of the station builds a direct bridge connecting overseas students to the innovation hubs back in our homeland. It’s more than just a service point — it’s a window full of opportunities. It allows us to get first-hand updates on the dynamic development and talent policies in Bao’an and Shenzhen, providing the most direct and reliable platform for our future academic research, internships, career opportunities, and project implementation. It genuinely helps our dreams set sail from Cambridge and take root in Shenzhen.” Looking ahead, the Bao’an District Overseas Talent Service Station will continue to optimize its services. It plans to regularly host events such as talent recruitment presentations, academic salons, project roadshows, and cultural exchange activities. These efforts aim to enhance Bao’an’s visibility and attractiveness among international talent, thereby supporting the district’s high-quality development. (Wang Jingli) |
