IOC president lauds innovation during TCL tour
    2025-11-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

INTERNATIONAL Olympic Committee (IOC) President Kirsty Coventry commended TCL’s advanced technological capabilities during a visit to the global tech company’s Shenzhen subsidiary Monday. TCL is an official Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner.

The visit to TCL CSOT, a world-leading display solution provider, was part of Coventry’s first trip to China since assuming the IOC leadership position in June 2025.

Coventry was in the country to attend the opening ceremony of the 15th National Games.

During the tour, Coventry experienced the company’s breakthroughs in display technology in the TCL CSOT exhibition hall. The company holds nearly 25,000 granted patents worldwide.

She also visited the T2 TV panel factory, a fully automated facility spanning an area equivalent to 12 soccer fields.

With an investment of US$3.4 billion, it is one of the most innovative and sustainable factories of its kind and capable of producing 170,000 TV panels per month.

“TCL’s innovative spirit and technology align with the Olympic vision of building a better world through sport,” Coventry said. “I look forward to seeing the impact of this collaboration at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 and beyond.”

The visit also highlighted the growing presence of Chinese enterprises globally. Chinese companies now occupy three of the 12 spots in the IOC’s Worldwide Partnership program.
