Travel in Pingshan with SkyShuttle
    2025-11-14  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE SkyShuttle Line 1 in Pingshan District brings convenient travel to residents by linking major cultural venues, industrial zones, and Shenzhen Metro stations.

From the ground, a SkyShuttle train running on the elevated rail looks like a dragon soaring above the city. Onboard, try to sit at the very front or rear for the best views: Streets below unfurl like an urban scroll while distant green hills and cityscapes sweep past the windows — a constantly changing visual feast.

Line 1 includes 11 stations: Pingshan High-speed Railway Station, Zhanqian Road East, Culture Center, Pingshan Center, Zhongxinguoji (SMIC), Bonded Area, Yanziling, Future City, Natural History Museum West, Longbei, and BYD North. Get off at any of the stations below to explore Pingshan’s cultural, natural, and historic attractions.

Culture Center Station 文化聚落站

You can spend a whole day at the Pingshan Culture Center, which brings together Pingshan Art Museum, Pingshan Library, Pingshan Theater, Pingshan Exhibition Gallery, Pingshan Book City, a cinema, restaurants, cafés, and lifestyle shops.

From performance stages and exhibition halls to books and lifestyle gadgets, the complex caters to every age and interest. Pingshan Theater is a leading performing arts venue; Pingshan Library includes a dedicated vinyl space with hundreds of records and thousands of CDs; and Pingshan Art Museum and Pingshan Exhibition Gallery host diverse exhibitions.

The 10-story Pingshan Library — nicknamed the “twisted library” for its tilted concrete slabs — and the box-shaped Pingshan Theater have become social media highlights.

Pingshan Center Station 坪山中心站

Pingshan Central Park is accessible from both Culture Center and Pingshan Center stations. This spacious urban oasis offers lush greenery, a serene lake, and fitness facilities — perfect for leisurely strolls.

A camping site in the park offers an idyllic retreat from the city’s hustle and bustle. During holidays, you can browse gadgets and crafts at markets, or bask in the melodies of live concerts.

Don’t miss the Big Lawn Book Room, a glass-walled reading space on the park’s lawn. In addition to a wide selection of books, it showcases potted plants accompanied by descriptions. Visitors can also enjoy coffee while relaxing in the space.

Yanziling Station 燕子岭站

From this station, it’s a short walk to Yanziling Park. The park’s verdant trails and classical pavilions create an “urban oxygen bar” for parkgoers. From the summit you’ll enjoy sweeping views of the Pingshan River winding through the landscape.

Natural History Museum West Station 自然博物馆西站

This station gives easy access to the Pingshan River, a scenic spot for hiking, cycling, or stream-side relaxation. When the nearby Shenzhen Natural History Museum is completed in late 2025, its 42,000-square-meter facility — notable for its extensive collections and distinctive architecture — will become a new landmark.

Longbei Station 龙背站

From Exit A at Longbei Station, walk east about 800 meters to reach the Dongjiang Column Memorial Hall, which displays historical documents, photos, veterans’ personal items, and multimedia exhibits that recreate key scenes from the history of the Dongjiang Column of the Guangdong People’s Guerrilla Force Against Japanese Aggression.
