Co-organized by the Guan Shanyue Art Museum and Century Place, the exhibition showcases works by students from schools including CUHK-Shenzhen Tianjian Primary School, Nanyuan Primary School and Futian Primary School. Since its launch in 2017, the “Learning Painting From Masters” program has invited students to study masterpieces at the Guan Shanyue Art Museum and create original works inspired by them. The initiative — supported by guided museum tours, workshops and exhibitions — has won wide acclaim and helped cultivate children’s creativity. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. In response, the museum asked students to paint after viewing Guan Shanyue’s wartime works and a selection of international posters on themes of peace and environmental protection. Visitors to the Century Place exhibition are treated to a range of styles, from vivid flower-and-bird paintings to imaginative poster recreations. Each piece reflects the children’s boundless imagination and their understanding of the world. Replicas of classic paintings and posters from the museum’s collection are also on display to provide additional study material for budding artists. An organizer from the Guan Shanyue Art Museum said the museum is committed to helping more young people benefit from high-quality art resources. A newly added digital art display at the exhibition further enhances the exhibition’s educational offerings. Organizers hope the show will help students become cultural ambassadors in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
