Tsinghua’s AI guidelines TSINGHUA University has released its first comprehensive guidelines for the use of AI in education, establishing standards for students and faculty in teaching, research, and academic activities. Faculty are expected to set clear boundaries for AI use in coursework, remain accountable for AI-generated content, and help students recognize the limitations and risks of AI. Students may use AI as a tool but are prohibited from submitting AI-generated content as their own academic work. For graduate research, the guidelines forbid using AI for plagiarism or ghostwriting and require supervisors to monitor its application. Robotaxis for Abu Dhabi UBER has begun offering fully driverless robotaxi rides on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island, using vehicles developed by the Chinese autonomous driving company WeRide. The robotaxis are accessible to users who book an UberX or Uber Comfort within the 12-square-mile tourist zone. Uber and WeRide started piloting the service with safety drivers in December 2024 and have now removed them on certain routes. WeRide’s GXR vans, which are equipped with more than 20 sensors and cameras and can seat up to five passengers, power the service. |
