‘Make it Shenzhen’ global promotion showcase starts
    2025-12-01  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE final showcase of the 2025 “Make it Shenzhen” Public Service Personnel Comprehensive Competence Competition on Investment and Talent Attraction was held in Qianhai on Friday as a prelude to the 2026 APEC meeting. The event drew more than 40 international guests from 21 countries.

Launched by city government departments Nov. 3, the “Make it Shenzhen” campaign has invited foreign residents, multinational executives and international students to act as city advocates. They have produced more than 20 multilingual short videos to promote Shenzhen abroad.

The showcase focused on six themes — innovation, legal environment, eco-friendly living, smart urban governance, cultural diversity, and international lifestyle — highlighting Shenzhen’s achievements in these sectors.

In one segment, contestants from 31 Shenzhen government departments formed 10 teams to stage scenario-based presentations aimed at international audiences. Using vivid performances and fluent language skills, the teams illustrated topics from smooth arrival to cultural tourism experiences, showcasing Shenzhen’s efficient services, business-friendly environment, and modern lifestyle.

Professor Aldo Tagliabue, chief scientist at the Laboratory of Inflammation and Vaccines in Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, said the city’s inclusiveness and cultural diversity give him confidence to do research there, and learning about recent development plans has made him more eager to continue exploring Shenzhen’s potential.

Wang Jiayin of the Shenzhen Longhua International Cooperation Center said hosting APEC next year will be a major opportunity for local firms to expand cooperation across the Asia‑Pacific and global markets.

Professor Georg Wilhelm Wimmer, a State-level leading talent at Shenzhen Technology University, praised Qianhai’s entrepreneurial spaces — such as the Qianhai E-hub — as inclusive innovation platforms that attract startups from home and abroad.

Also on Friday, the international delegation visited the Qianhai Exhibition Hall, LAiPIC (a firm that develops a platform for animation design and digital human creation), and the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration. (Zhang Zeling)
