European robotics delegation visits Bao’an seeking opportunities
    2025-12-02  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

NEARLY 20 representatives from the robotics industry and research institutions across seven countries, including Italy, the U.K., Spain, Germany, Russia, and Finland, gathered in Bao’an District recently for the Shenzhen leg of the 2025 China-Europe Robotics Industry Exchange event.

They visited several robotics companies in Bao’an District to learn about the district’s fast-growing innovation landscape.

At SwitchBot, an AI-powered pet robot named Kata Friends impressed the European delegation with its cutting-edge technology — including a locally deployed large model and autonomous navigation — wrapped in a soft, furry exterior.

The company, which applies “embodied intelligence” in home scenarios, demonstrated how technology can be both advanced and emotionally engaging. Delegates interacted enthusiastically with Kata Friends, praising its blend of technical capability and emotive design.

At PaXini Tech, guests were introduced to a dexterous hand equipped with a multi-dimensional tactile sensor.

During a visit to Wenzhi Traditional Chinese Medicine Health Tech Co., the delegation learned about AI-powered TCM diagnosis.

European representatives also showed strong interest in Insta360’s rapid product iteration and market expertise, trying out thumb-sized and action cameras.

In the evening, the delegation took a stroll through the Bao’an central area and rode the Bay Glory Ferris wheel at OH Bay, which gave them an aerial view of the livable coastal urban center.

“From hardware to software, from manufacturing to services — Bao’an’s robotics ecosystem is surprisingly complete,” remarked Dominic Chippendale, founder of U.K.-based O-wind. Having visited Shenzhen a decade ago, he expressed astonishment at Bao’an’s urban transformation and industrial development.

“Bao’an is the right place!” several guests exclaimed on the spot, vowing to pursue collaboration with local companies before the end of their visit. (Wang Jingli)
