Music camp creators behind Games theme song
    2025-12-03  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE theme song for the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the ninth National Special Olympic Games was released Nov. 24. Titled “Towards the Mountains and Seas,” the Mandarin version is performed by actor-singer Yi Yangqianxi (Jackson Yee) alongside choirs from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.

The song was composed by Jam You Music Group, with lyrics by Su La. Both are based in Shenzhen and took part in the Pingshan Music Creation Camp.

Su, a member of the China Pop Musicians Association, is known for conveying emotion through natural imagery and regional characteristics in her lyrics. In “Towards the Mountains and Seas,” lines such as “the wind from the south” and “flowers in eternal bloom” paint vivid scenes while reflecting the inclusiveness of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the determined spirit of the Games.

Jam You Music Group is a partner of the fifth Pingshan Music Creation Camp. Some of its tracks were used as background music for the 15th National Games’ rhythmic gymnastics competition, held Nov. 8-10 at the Pingshan Sports Center Gymnasium.

The fifth Pingshan Music Creation Camp opened Nov. 16. Songs performed during the camp showcase diverse styles, reflect local culture, and offer contemplation on life. As a major cultural event in Pingshan, the camp provides an immersive creative environment and an exchange platform where songwriters explore the district’s natural landscapes and urban features. Through street performances and benefit classes, the camp brings original music into communities, schools, and factories.(Cao Zhen)
