TO welcome the 2026 APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting set to be held in Shenzhen in November 2026, the Bao’an District Committee of the Communist Youth League of China has launched a multilingual volunteer team. The team will offer language support in English, Spanish, French, Korean, Russian, German, and more. Members include students from Shenzhen University, Southern University of Science and Technology, Shenzhen Polytechnic, Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School, and Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen, as well as volunteers who have studied abroad. Volunteers will identify incorrect foreign-language signage across the district, produce multilingual videos showcasing Bao’an’s cityscape, technological innovation, quality services, cultural landmarks, specialty shops, and smart-city applications, and provide interpretation and guidance to foreign visitors at major events, transportation hubs, and tourist attractions. Volunteers will receive training in etiquette and interpretation skills. Cheng Shiqi and Lai Runxin, two volunteers from local universities, said they are honored to join the team and are committed to providing professional service.(Cao Zhen) |
