BYD surpasses Tesla as top EV seller
    2026-01-05  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Shenzhen-based new energy vehicle manufacturer BYD sold approximately 2.26 million electric vehicles (EVs) in 2025, outpacing U.S. rival Tesla, which delivered about 1.63 million EVs during the same period. Overall, BYD sold roughly 4.6 million new energy vehicles last year, including both pure electric and plug-in hybrid models. The company has continued to expand its domestic market presence while rapidly growing overseas. In 2025, BYD’s overseas sales exceeded 1.04 million passenger and commercial vehicles, reaching more than 110 countries and regions. This performance makes it one of China’s fastest-growing automotive exporters
