Digital guide unlocks local hiking trails
    2026-01-07  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A ONE-STOP digital guide to Shenzhen’s growing hiking network has launched on the “美丽深圳” (“Beautiful Shenzhen”) WeChat public account, according to the city’s urban administration and law enforcement bureau.

The online “深圳远足径” (“Shenzhen Hiking Trails”) section for the account allows users to browse detailed routes, view real-time trail conditions, locate restrooms, and start navigation from a single page. Find it by opening “美丽深圳” and tapping “公园深圳” (“Park Shenzhen”) to enter the “深圳远足径” section.

The page offers four main features: an Outdoor Covenant (safety and etiquette), Travel Tips (weather, gear, safety, etc.), Transport Info (nearby buses, Metro lines, and parking), and Service Facilities (restrooms and other amenities).

The guide includes many of the city’s well-known routes, such as the Kunpeng Trail, the Fenghuang Trail, and the Cuiwei Trail, as well as loops like the Yangtai Mountain Ring and the Maluan Mountain Ring.

An intelligent search bar allows users to filter by region, difficulty, and duration or enter keywords to quickly find a route that suits them. One click opens a detailed page with route descriptions, itinerary suggestions, and practical tips. The guide also recommends popular routes and nearby attractions and displays photos and user-shot videos from fellow hikers. In emergencies, the platform provides one-touch access to rescue phone numbers and can automatically share the user’s location to speed up assistance.

Shenzhen’s hiking network has expanded rapidly in recent years, drawing an increasing number of residents into outdoor exploration. The 200-kilometer Kunpeng Trail has helped put the city on the map as a distinctive outdoor destination and was named among the country’s top 10 outdoor sport destinations.
