Finding common ground in rhythm
    2026-01-21  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Dressed in vibrant costumes and holding traditional red batons, a group of international Generation Z students strike a dynamic pose during a rehearsal of Yingge Dance at the Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen, on Sunday. This centuries-old folk dance is recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage in China. The rehearsal was part of a two-month cultural program, in which the international students first studied the history and significance of Yingge Dance before embarking on two weeks of intensive training. The initiative aims to create meaningful cultural exchange and deepen mutual understanding between Chinese and foreign youth through shared artistic practice.Lin Jianping
