Guangdong is targeting GDP growth of 4.5% to 5% this year and is making every effort to deliver better results, according to a provincial government work report delivered to the opening meeting of the annual session of the province’s legislature yesterday. This year, work on construction of the Guangzhou-Zhuhai (Macao) High-speed Railway will start and the new Huanggang Checkpoint in Shenzhen will open to the public. Priorities will be given to industries such as sixth-generation mobile communication, embodied intelligence, cell and gene therapy, brain science and brain-computer interfaces, hydrogen energy and advanced nuclear energy, deep-sea exploration, and quantum technology.
