A weeklong campaign to raise public awareness of wetland protection kicked off in Shenzhen yesterday, coinciding with the 30th World Wetlands Day. Throughout the week, a bilingual short film titled “Promise” will be screened across all 17 lines of the Shenzhen Metro. Produced by Shenzhen News Group, the film is set against the backdrop of Futian Mangrove Nature Reserve and portrays interconnected pledges between humans and birds, cities and nature, development and conservation, as well as China and the world. According to the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, China now ranks first in Asia and fourth globally in total wetland area. Shenzhen itself is home to 348 square kilometers of wetlands.Xinhua |
