CHINA’S Spring Festival travel rush, known as “Chunyun,” begins before the country’s most important holiday and is often described as the world’s largest annual human migration. This year’s 40-day travel season runs from Feb. 2 to March 13.

With the start of Chunyun, Lanzhou West Railway Station has welcomed a number of pet passengers. These animals are monitored and cared for by train staff and travel in dedicated carriers fitted with intelligent monitoring systems.

Since Jan. 28, railway authorities have expanded the number of high-speed rail stations offering pet transport services. Passengers can reserve these services via the 12306 app or the WeChat miniprogram, making pet travel more convenient.         (SD-Xinhua)
