The notorious cross-border armed criminal gangs known as the Ming and Bai families, which operated in northern Myanmar, have been completely dismantled, China’s Supreme People’s Court announced Thursday. By the end of 2025, Chinese courts had concluded over 27,000 first-instance cases related to telecom fraud linked to northern Myanmar. A total of 39 individuals received sentences of life imprisonment or harsher penalties. Of these, 16 were sentenced to death and have been executed |
