‘Two sessions’ open to shape China’s next five years
    2026-03-05  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

This week marks China’s “two sessions”— the annual gatherings of China’s top legislature, the National People’s Congress (NPC), and the top political advisory body, the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). The CPPCC session commenced in Beijing yesterday while NPC lawmakers will officially kick off their meeting today. As thousands of deputies and advisors convene in Beijing, one document will take center stage: the draft 15th Five-Year Plan. This blueprint will guide the world’s second-largest economy from 2026 to 2030. More than a review of past achievements, these sessions will set a strategic compass for the nation’s path forward
