SHENZHEN Mayor Qin Weizhong announced that the city, as host of the 33rd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting, will strive to present a “Shenzhen Solution” aimed at fostering shared prosperity across the Asia-Pacific region. The initiative will focus on upgrading the city’s international infrastructure and services, expanding global partnerships, and deepening collaboration in artificial intelligence, new energy, and green transformation, according to him. Qin made the remarks Friday during a group deliberation of the Guangdong delegation at the ongoing annual session of China’s top legislature in Beijing. He emphasized that hosting the APEC meeting marks a milestone in Shenzhen’s development and represents a pivotal opportunity to accelerate its emergence as a globally influential economic center and modern international metropolis. In 2025, Shenzhen’s total trade with APEC economies accounted for nearly 12% of the national total, he said. Shenzhen has also established sister-city ties with nearly 100 cities globally, 33 of which are in APEC economies. “The APEC meeting will inject strong momentum into Shenzhen’s efforts to deepen reform and opening up, advance innovation-driven growth, and elevate its global standing. It will enhance the city’s competitiveness and innovation capacity, accelerating its journey toward becoming a world-class city,” Qin said. (SD News) |
