A disposable membrane oxygenator independently developed by a Shenzhen-based company has secured market access approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Xinhua reported yesterday. The device, developed by Chinabridge Shenzhen Medical Technology, is a critical disposable component of the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) system — a kind of life support device for patients with life-threatening heart or lung failure.
