A display of 3D printers draws the attention of visitors at Bambu Lab’s first flagship store at MixC Shenzhen Bay in Nanshan District. Guests are struck by the printers’ “making” capabilities — from creative toys and everyday essentials to wearable accessories. More importantly, most of the devices are priced at just around 1,000 yuan (US$145), making them highly accessible to consumers. By pursuing a dual strategy that focuses on both hardware innovation and ecosystem development, Shenzhen-based Bambu Lab has succeeded in lowering the entry barrier to consumer 3D printing while simultaneously expanding its application scenarios.
