World snooker champion from Shenzhen makes new history
    2026-04-07  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Zhao Xintong, the reigning world snooker champion from Shenzhen, clinched his first Tour Championship title with a commanding 10-3 victory over world No. 1 Judd Trump in Manchester, the U.K., on Sunday. Zhao became the first player ever to sweep all three events of the Players Series in a single season — having previously won the World Grand Prix in Hong Kong and the Players Championship in Telford, both in February. The victory lifted him to a career-high world ranking of No. 4. It was his fourth title of the 2025/26 season and his seventh professional final without a defeat. Born in Shenzhen in 1997, Zhao turned professional in 2016 and etched his name in the record books in 2025 as Asia’s first-ever world snooker champion
