Five Shenzhen-based universities have made the 2026 Best Chinese Universities list released yesterday by higher education consultancy ShanghaiRanking. Leading the city’s contingent is Southern University of Science and Technology, which broke into the national top 30 for the first time. Other notable performers include The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen at 39th and Shenzhen University, which climbed two spots to 66th place. Shenzhen MSU-BIT University secured 108th, while Shenzhen Technology University ranked 283rd. Nationally, Tsinghua University, Peking University, and Zhejiang University maintained their hold on the top three positions
