    2026-04-27  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE 2026 IIHF Men’s Ice Hockey World Championship Division I, Group B will take place from Wednesday to May 5 at the Shenzhen Universiade Sports Center in Longgang District.

Part of the global competition system under the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), the tournament will feature six teams: China, Romania, South Korea, Estonia, Spain and the Netherlands. A series of high-level matchups is expected to deliver a compelling ice hockey spectacle for audiences worldwide.

The competition will adopt a single round-robin format, with a total of 15 games to be played. The champion will be promoted to Division I Group A, while the last-placed team will be relegated to Division II.

The event is organized by the IIHF, co-hosted by the Chinese Ice Hockey Association and the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, with support from the Guangdong Provincial Sports Bureau. It is organized by the Shenzhen Municipal Culture, Media, Tourism, and Sports Bureau and the Longgang District People’s Government. This marks another major international ice hockey event for Shenzhen, following its successful hosting of the IIHF Women’s World Championship in 2023 and 2025.
