THE May Day holiday (May 1–5) is just around the corner, and Shenzhen has prepared a dazzling array of events and attractions to create an unforgettable holiday experience. Whether you’re a coffee lover, a burger enthusiast, a culture seeker, or a thrill-seeker, Shenzhen has something to satisfy every desire.

2026 Awaken Coffee Festival

As Shenzhen’s largest outdoor coffee festival featuring the most comprehensive brand lineup, the seventh Awaken Coffee Festival gathers over 160 brands spanning coffee, specialty food, and cultural creativity. Highlights include the World Coffee Brewers Championship (WCBC) Invitational, a special exhibition from Menglian County, Yunnan, and the Chinese and Overseas Chinese Brewing Competition.

Time: 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., April 29 – May 5

Super Burger Festival in Futian

This festival brings together over 60 creative brands offering burgers and trendy foods. From burgers and American-style light meals to craft beer and coffee, you can check off all your favorites in one stop. Burger lovers won’t want to miss this event, which also features plenty of interactive experiences.

Dates: May 1–5

Location: Bijia Hill Sports Park, Futian District

Burger festival in Bao’an

This festival brings together over 50 popular burger brands from across the country, with more than half making their Shenzhen debut. Showcasing a variety of regional flavors, the festival offers a one-stop feast of classic, creative, and local specialty burgers to satisfy every taste.

Dates: Through May 3

Location: Starlight Walk, LG, Joy City, Bao’an District

APEC Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival

Chinese and international partners set up stalls together, creating an immersive “see-learn-do-make” experience loop. This transforms static heritage displays into vibrant cultural exchanges, allowing participants to learn and create together while immersing themselves in the unique charm of multicultural fusion.

HK Disneyland exhibition

Unlock a wonderful adventure at this Hong Kong Disneyland exhibition centered on a spring theme. Highlights include a 6-meter-tall giant LinaBell plush installation (a national first) and the debut of the “Spring Voyage” boat installation.

Window of the World

During the holiday, Window of the World features drone swarm performances, an international top-tier magic gala, Eiffel Tower light shows, fireworks displays, and the WoW Music Carnival.

Splendid China · Folk Culture Villages

A China-chic cultural festival features a 20,000-square-meter market scene from “A Dream of Splendor,” a grand parade in traditional Chinese costume, intangible cultural heritage horse archery, an immersive Peking Opera block, and four major Chinese-style spectaculars including “Dragon and Phoenix Dance China.”

Dates: Until June 1

Location: Splendid China · Folk Culture Villages, Nanshan District

Metro: Line 1 to OCT Station (华侨城站), Exit D

Concerts

Shenzhen Happy Theater, featuring the country’s largest outdoor aquatic stage, will offer music lovers two intimate, immersive concert experiences. Tickets are available on mini-programs such as Damai and Maoyan.

The Life Journey

A renowned Chinese pop-rock band celebrating their 20th anniversary, The Life Journey has released 15 albums to date. They treat life as a journey and turn that journey into music.

Mr. Sea Turtle

Founded in December 2004, Mr. Sea Turtle blends Ska, Punk, and Grunge. Their relaxed, joyful, and authentic live energy has won the hearts of many.

Auto show

Highlights include a modified car culture festival, an outdoor camping car tailgate market, intangible cultural heritage cuisine and Yunnan specialty products exhibition, go-kart fun play, a parent-child fun festival, an international circus festival, Pengcheng intangible cultural heritage, Chaoshan Yingge dance, and the Car Player Base.
