New direct buses link Dark Sky Observatory, Yangmeikeng
    2026-05-11  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SAY goodbye to complicated transfers! Shenzhen Eastern Bus has officially launched two new weekend routes, providing direct access from Shatian Metro Station (沙田站) to the Xichong Dark Sky Observatory and the coastal scenic spot of Yangmeikeng in Dapeng New Area.

These routes operate every Saturday, Sunday, and on public holidays. Whether you want to explore the cosmos or chase the waves, these “one-seat” rides are tailor-made for hassle-free travel.

Route details

PJ67, PJ69: Both lines follow a fixed schedule to ensure you have a full day to enjoy the sights.

Departure: 9 a.m. from Shatian Metro Station

Return: 6 p.m.

Ticket price: 20 yuan (US$) per person for a single trip

Major stops:

PJ67: Shatian Metro Station, Longguang City, Technology University Metro Station, Dark Sky Observatory

Highlight: Once you arrive at the Dark Sky Observatory, you can take a shuttle bus to Wangyuling Observation Deck to check out the famous cliffside café.

PJ69: Shatian Metro Station, Longguang City, Technology University Metro station, Yangmeikeng

Highlight: Famous for its clear blue waters and the “mermaid hole” (from the movie “The Mermaid”), this is a top spot for cycling and seaside photography.

How to buy tickets

Search for the “e巴出行” miniprogram on WeChat, click on the search bar and select “线路查询” (Route Query). Enter the route number (PJ67 or PJ69), select your date and complete the purchase.

Nan’ao sea urchin season

Planning to make a full trip of it? Don’t miss the Nan’ao sea urchin season.

Every spring and summer (lasting until June), the waters of Dapeng offer the best sea urchins. Harvested fresh daily in the morning, these local golden urchins are incredibly sweet and creamy.

Pro tip: It is recommended to book your restaurant seats one day in advance, as fresh supplies are limited.

Travel tips

If you are staying in the city center, you can take Metro Line 8 to Xichong Station (溪涌站) (Exit C) and transfer to Bus E92 to reach Nan’ao. Alternatively, buses E11 and 833 also reach the central Nan’ao area.(Tang Li)
