Bao’an showcases investment potential at ICIF
    2026-05-25  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

BAO’AN District hosted an investment promotion event Friday on the sidelines of the 22nd China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF).

The event, co-organized by the Bao’an District Investment Promotion Agency and the district’s Culture, Media, Tourism, and Sports Bureau, drew nearly 30 representatives from leading domestic firms in the cultural, tourism, and technology sectors.

To illustrate the district’s unique appeal, the Bao’an District Investment Promotion Agency highlighted three defining figures: a youthful average age of 32, a deep history of over 1,700 years, and a massive resident population of 5.56 million. Officials underscored Bao’an’s dual identity as a vibrant economic engine and a storied cultural hub, emphasizing its strategic advantages as a transportation powerhouse with a business-friendly policy environment.

The event spotlighted major local landmarks. Li Ting, executive director and general manager of Huafa Group’s Guangzhou and Shenzhen branch, introduced Qianhai Snow World, currently the world’s largest indoor ski resort.

He also noted the recent opening of Super Sensory Park, a multifaceted sports and lifestyle destination featuring skiing, diving, rock climbing, and high-end leisure facilities.

During a roundtable discussion, industry leaders expressed optimism about the district’s “culture plus technology” strategy.

Zhan Kankan, vice president of Leyard & Guangzhou Leafun Culture Science and Technology Co. Ltd., noted that his company’s expertise in digital displays and the “night economy” aligns perfectly with Bao’an’s urban development goals.

Anne Lee, president of the Hong Kong-based Joint Publishing Cultural Fund Ltd., praised the district’s global connectivity.

“With its international airport and world-class convention and exhibition center, Bao’an has reached an advanced level of internationalization,” Lee said. She added that there is significant potential for Bao’an and Hong Kong to deepen ties in cultural exports, the development of intangible cultural heritage, and intellectual property (IP) incubation.

The district’s commercial vitality was echoed by Huang Haidong, PR director of the Chinese IP creator HERE Group. Huang reported that the company’s newly opened “trendy toy” store in the Uniwalk shopping complex is already seeing “brisk business,” and expressed hopes for continued government support as the brand expands.
