Sam’s Club food risks draw China regulator’s action
    2026-06-16  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

China’s top market regulator has held talks with Walmart China following food safety violations at Sam’s Club’s brick-and-mortar stores and online platforms, Xinhua reported yesterday. The company was urged to strengthen its food safety awareness, mitigate risks across the entire supply chain, and effectively safeguard public health. In a statement released yesterday, Sam’s Club China said it fully acknowledges and accepts the findings. The company has established a special task force to conduct a comprehensive self-inspection and rectification across all channels and the supply chain. It also promised to provide regular progress reports to regulatory authorities and remain open to public supervision
