SZ’s LineShine now world’s most powerful supercomputer
    2026-06-25  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

LineShine, a homegrown supercomputer developed by the National Supercomputing Center in Shenzhen, has overtaken the U.S.-based El Capitan to become the world’s most powerful system. This achievement marks the first time since 2017 that a Chinese machine has topped the TOP500 list, a ranking widely regarded as the definitive barometer of national technological prowess. Announced on Tuesday at the ISC High Performance 2026 in Hamburg, Germany, LineShine made a record-breaking debut with a performance of 2.198 exaflops — exceeding 2 quintillion calculations per second
