Enjoy a tapestry of blooms in Bao’an
    2026-06-29  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

WHAT color is summer? In Bao’an, the answer shifts from the regal purple of verbena to the blushing pink of muhly grass, and explodes into a kaleidoscope of roses. As the season reaches its peak, the district’s major parks have rolled out their most spectacular floral displays. This curated guide will lead you to the city’s hidden summer treasures — perfect for a weekend escape.

Moshanghua Park陌上花公园

At the Wumu Garden section of Moshanghua Park, approximately 9,000 square meters of verbena have entered full bloom. The terraced flower fields cascade down the slopes like a flowing purple tide — when the breeze passes, the blossoms ripple and sway, creating a mesmerizing oceanic effect.

Transport: Take Metro Line 6 to Guantian Station (官田站), Exit D; then transfer to Bus M257 to Moshanghua Park Station

Shiyan Wetland Park石岩湿地公园

Not far away, the muhly grass at Shiyan Wetland Park is quietly turning pink. The fluffy, airy flower spikes form soft, continuous patches that, from a distance, resemble a layer of pink mist settling over the landscape. When the wind stirs, the spikes sway in unison, sending gentle pink waves across the field — like stepping straight into a fairy tale.

What makes this spot unique is its lakeside setting. The pink blooms stretch along the water’s edge, where the shimmering lake mirrors their hues. A well-maintained greenway encircles the lake, perfect for cycling or a leisurely hike.

Lixin Lake Park立新湖公园

For those who crave vibrant color, Lixin Lake Park delivers in spectacular fashion. Its nearly 2,000-square-meter rose garden is home to over 10,000 rose plants, all at their peak. The blooms span an exuberant palette — fiery reds, tender pinks, sunny yellows, and vivid oranges — scattered across the garden like nature’s own spilled paintbox. Under the bright summer sunlight, each blossom seems to glow, making every snapshot resemble a richly textured oil painting.

Transport: Take Metro Line 11 to Qiaotou Station (桥头站), Exit C; then walk about 880 meters

Wuzhipa Park五指耙公园

The rose display at Wuzhipa Park is equally deserving of attention. Here, tens of thousands of rose bushes burst into bloom, their layered petals gently quivering in the breeze and releasing a delicate, sweet fragrance. What sets this park apart is its integration of traditional Chinese pavilions and winding pathways, creating a unique atmosphere where Eastern garden aesthetics meet Western floral traditions.

Transport: Take Metro Line 11 to Shajing Station (沙井站), Exit B1; then transfer to Bus M333 to Datianyang Bus Terminal(Tang Li)
