Shenzhen Metro launched contactless “tap-to-ride” services for international travelers yesterday, allowing passengers to pass through fare gates using overseas-issued bank cards. The service supports Mastercard, Visa, American Express, and JCB, provided the cards are equipped with contactless (NFC) functionality. This new payment option is now live across all 432 stations on 17 lines of the city’s Metro network. This upgrade removes the need for international visitors to purchase physical tickets or download domestic mobile payment apps |
