SZ gets direct flights to Mogao Grottoes city
    2026-07-09  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A direct flight route between Shenzhen and Dunhuang in northwest China’s Gansu Province launches tomorrow, operated by Shenzhen Airlines. The temporary service runs daily from July 10 to Aug. 31. The outbound flight departs Shenzhen at 2:50 p.m. and arrives in Dunhuang at 7:30 p.m.; the return leg leaves Dunhuang at 8:30 p.m. and lands in Shenzhen at 12:50 a.m. the following day. Dunhuang, an oasis in Gansu on the edge of the Taklimakan Desert, was a vital Silk Road crossroads. Its Mogao Grottoes, also known as the Thousand Buddha Grottoes, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987, house the world’s richest collection of Buddhist murals and sculptures
