XAG Co Ltd, one of China’s largest smart agricultural drone manufacturers, has unveiled its new X series of agricultural robots alongside an unmanned lawn mower in Guangzhou, offering farmers accessible and intelligent automation management solutions for modern agriculture. The newly launched X series agricultural robots are designed to tackle the growing labor shortages and rising operational costs in the farming sector. Equipped with fully automated capabilities, the robots can independently handle route planning, aerial spraying, liquid mixing and refilling, recharging and routine maintenance — a comprehensive suite of functions that significantly reduces both the labor and resource consumption traditionally associated with crop protection, according to the company. In addition to the X series, XAG also introduced the RM80 unmanned lawn mower, a pure-electric machine featuring full-stack intelligence. The mower offers an easy-to-use, efficient, eco-friendly and cost-effective solution for agricultural weed control. With its high-clearance chassis and high-performance cutting deck, the RM80 is versatile enough to handle a wide range of tasks, including orchard mowing, land reclamation and field stubble removal, making it a valuable tool for diverse farming environments. XAG’s drone technology has already made a significant impact on a global scale. The company’s agricultural drones have been deployed in more than 70 countries and regions, and over the past few years, they have completed agricultural tasks on approximately 186 million hectares of farmland, according to Gong Jiaqin, co-founder of XAG. “The widespread adoption of agricultural drones has helped tens of millions of farmers reduce operational costs and increase their incomes,” Gong said, adding that the company remains committed to advancing smart farming technologies that benefit agricultural communities worldwide. China’s agricultural drone sector has experienced remarkable growth in recent years. Official statistics from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs show that the country now has more than 300,000 agricultural drones in operation, making it the global leader in both the number and scale of drone applications in agriculture.
