Shenzhen Metro began enforcing stricter security screening regulations yesterday, requiring that all carry‑on luggage pass through X‑ray machines and that all passengers be scanned with hand‑held metal detectors. Several items remain completely banned on all Metro trains. Live animals are prohibited, with exceptions only for guide dogs accompanying visually impaired passengers and on-duty police dogs. Other banned items include offensive weapons, inflatable balloons, and standard bicycles. Folded bicycles are permitted if they meet the system’s luggage size specifications. Oversized and overweight luggage is also restricted. Passengers may not carry any item that weighs over 30 kg or has combined external dimensions exceeding 1.6 meters |
