
22nd Stop: Beijing, China The 22nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting was held in Beijing on Nov. 11, 2014. The meeting focused on three priorities: promoting regional economic integration; fostering innovative development, reform and growth; and strengthening infrastructure and connectivity. Leaders adopted two documents: the Beijing Agenda for an Integrated, Innovative and Interconnected Asia-Pacific — the 22nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Declaration, and Shaping the Future through Asia-Pacific Partnership — Statement on the 25th Anniversary of APEC. Beijing, the capital of China, is a municipality directly under the Central Government, a national center city and a megacity. It serves as the nation’s political, cultural, international exchange, and science and technology innovation center. One of China’s most famous historical and cultural cities, the ancient capital is also classified as a global first-tier city. |
