THIS Friday evening, the renowned French children’s choir Le Choeur des Polysons (Paris Polysons Children’s Choir) will captivate audiences at the Shenzhen Poly Theater. The concert promises an enchanting evening of choral music, embodying the spirit of “shared beauty and universal harmony.”

Founded in 1994, the Paris-based choir has spent over three decades establishing itself as one of France’s premier vocal ensembles. The group has collaborated with leading French bands and singers, participated in major productions including the opera “Carmen” and the film concert “The Lord of the Rings,” and become a regular feature on French national television and entertainment programs.

Beyond their native France, where they have performed everywhere from the Comédie-Française to the Stade de France, the choir has toured extensively across Europe and the Middle East. In recent years, the choir has forged particularly strong ties with Chinese audiences. They have recorded nine CDs throughout their history.

The choir’s repertoire includes a celebration of French chanson classics, particularly honoring the legacy of Édith Piaf. On the centenary of Piaf’s birth, the ensemble performed and recorded 10 of her most famous songs to great acclaim. Their program will feature beloved Piaf classics including “La Vie en rose,” “Non, je ne regrette rien,” and “L’Hymne à l’amour,” alongside other French favorites like “Boum” and “Milord.”

For the Shenzhen concert, the choir will present a diverse program blending French chanson, Chinese melodies, and cinematic classics. Highlights include “Si j’allais en Chine,” “Les lucioles” performed in Chinese, alongside selections from the beloved film “Les Choristes” (“The Chorus”), including “Vois sur ton chemin” and “Cerf volant.” The program also features ABBA’s “Dancing Queen,” offering a lively finale to what promises to be an unforgettable evening.
