DHL announced Tuesday the phased launch of its expanded mega gateway at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport. The 1.2-billion-yuan (US$177 million) project represents the German logistics company’s largest single investment on the Chinese mainland to date. The expanded facility integrates automation, unmanned systems and intelligent technologies. Its daily cargo-handling capacity has tripled to 900 metric tons. Once fully operational, the new gateway will support additional direct cargo flights from Shenzhen to key destinations across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
