A train departs Jiufo Station on the 48.2-kilometer section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Intercity Railway between Zhuliao and Xintang South stations in Guangzhou. The section opened Friday, marking the railway’s full operation and creating a direct rail link between Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. Travel between the two airports now takes about 1 hour and 36 minutes. Residents of Guangzhou, Foshan and Zhaoqing can take direct trains to the Shenzhen airport, while those in Shenzhen, Dongguan and Huizhou can travel directly to the Guangzhou airport by rail.Xinhua
