A girl embraces “Panda,” the world’s first active-emotion companion robot for children, during a recent launch event in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. Independently developed by a company incubated by the Zhejiang University Robotics Institute, “Panda” features a panda-inspired biomimetic design and maintains a near-human body temperature. Powered by core “embodied life-like interaction” technology and built on a foundation of multi-modal perception and affective computing, the robot offers proactive emotional companionship, intelligent daily habit formation, and immersive graded English speaking practice. Designed for young children at home, it delivers an embodied, life-like interactive experience that understands, expresses, remembers, and grows with its user.
