
A girl embraces “Panda,” the world’s first active-emotion companion robot for children, during a recent launch event in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. Independently developed by a company incubated by the Zhejiang University Robotics Institute, “Panda” features a panda-inspired biomimetic design and maintains a near-human body temperature. Powered by core “embodied life-like interaction” technology and built on a foundation of multi-modal perception and affective computing, the robot offers proactive emotional companionship, intelligent daily habit formation, and immersive graded English speaking practice.
