City to enhance services for intl. travelers at checkpoints

Shenzhen will establish dedicated payment service centers for international travelers at its border checkpoints as part of 19 new measures rolled out to improve the business environment at the city’s ports. The centers will offer foreign currency ATMs, currency exchange services and multilingual brochures. Meanwhile, Shenzhen plans to accelerate renovations of Luohu and Shatoujiao checkpoints and introduce contactless clearance using facial-recognition technology across all checkpoints. An intelligent facial- and iris-recognition system will be piloted at Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint, according to the measures
